The glories of our Lord are indescribable!

We attempt to but He is so High above our comprehension that we can not come up with words that can begin to explain or even fathom who He is.

With that said the closest we can come to understanding Him is through His own words. The Holy Bible are the words of God explaining to us who He is, His love for us. His desire to see us live a righteous life, and His Son's willing gift of Salvation if we will receive it.

Therefore, by going to that word, we are able to see the best description of God according to our minute ability to understand.

In the 113 Psalm and the 4th verse, we are shown that Psalms 113:4 NASB1995 The Lord is high above all nations; His glory is above the heavens.

Stop and think about the statement "His glory is above the heavens." Now, of course, we can understand that the creator is greater than the creation. Since He created the heavens, He is greater than the heavens. However, when we talk of glory we often describe the heavens and God alike. We think of glory with Jasper walls and a city of pure Gold like a sea of glass, with Foundation stones of all kinds of precious jewels and 12 gates each made of a single pearl. With light radiating everywhere. When we think of glory, we think of God glowing with light pure and white, and many descriptions that describe heaven. This is very accurate because what makes heaven, heaven is the presence of God. Yet as the verse says, "His Glory is above the Heavens."

Listen to verse 6. Psalms 113:6 NASB1995 Who humbles Himself to behold The things that are in heaven and in the earth?

The Lord God is so glorious that He has to humble Himself to behold the things of Heaven. When we look up on a clear dark night where there is little to no light pollution we are astounded by the magnificent glory of the heavens. Yet God has to bring Himself low (humble Himself) just to behold it!

God is so far above the glories of heaven that He has to humble Himself just to be a part of it, and yet we struggle to imagine heaven's glories.

So when we thank of the glories of heaven remember the most glorious of heavens glories will be the presence of God who has to humble His glories just to look at the glories of heaven. Then stop and think not only has He humbled Himself to look at heaven, but He humbled Himself to enter the world in the flesh to provide Salvation for me and you. The most glorious of all glories who has to humble Himself just to behold heaven, humbled Himself all the more to empty Himself and put on flesh because He loves you! John 15:13 NASB1995 Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

The Lord of glories, in His humility reveals more of His glory.

He is just too glorious to explain. One day, I will behold His glory as I fall down in tears to worship Him, and He wipes away my tears and says because of My Son, you are my son. That is Heaven and that is glorious but not as glorious as My God. He humbled Himself just so I can come into His presence clothed in His righteousness.

Psalms 113:1-3 NASB1995 Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, Praise the name of the Lord. Blessed be the name of the Lord From this time forth and forever. From the rising of the sun to its setting The name of the Lord is to be praised.
