1 Peter 2:6-8 NASB1995 For this is contained in Scripture: “Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner stone, And he who believes in Him will not be disappointed.” This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve, “The stone which the builders rejected, This became the very corner stone,” and, “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense”; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed.
The stone doesn't look like anything special. In fact, He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.
Nothing about Him looked like a King yet He is the King of Kings. I remember a movie where a rich man dressed and lived as a homeless man. In the end, those who didn't look down on him or value him as less received wealth. You see just because God wrapped Himself in flesh and became fully man didn't remove His deity. He might not look like God, but make no mistake, He still is! He was, is, and always will be, the precious cornerstone of salvation. For there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. The cornerstone may not look like much, but without it, the building will fall. It locks, secures, and squares up all the rest of the building stones. Yet so many people miss the value of this stone being foretold in the scripture. For they stumble because they are disobedient to the word. Because they miss this they stumble on the stone meant to secure their salvation. The word reveals the Savior who is the word in flesh. Do not trip over this stone it is meant to bring you a firm foundation of salvation for you to live eternally.
The stone was laid as the Ebenezer (stone of help) for you to be saved. Make sure you recognize it from the description in the Bible. The Holy Scripture says He is the Son of God and the only way to the Father.
If you have already built upon this stone lead others to it through the word of God. Don't leave them stumbling over the precious offer of eternal salvation on the cornerstone named Jesus (Jehovah is Salvation)
