Matthew 12:33 NASB1995 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit.
In the scriptures proceeding this verse Jesus had healed a demon-possessed man. The Pharisees claimed that Jesus had casted out demons by the power of Satan. Then He spoke of Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. He then comes to this verse.
Many people want to say things about Jesus as being a good man or teacher while refusing to accept what He said about Himself. Jesus said the Father and I are one. (John 10:30).
Immediately the Jews picked up stones to stone Him. They understood what He was saying.
To the Samaritan women as she spoke of the Christ, He said to her "I who speak to you am He." (John 4:26).
Peter said to Jesus, "you are the Christ the Son of the Living God. And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 16:16-17).
There are other instances as well, so how can some one say Jesus is good, like many other worldly religions do and yet refuse His deity? To this thought Jesus says, "Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad."
This very thing is happening in our world today as many people are saying Jesus is one of many ways to the Father. How can He be a way to the Father if He is a liar? John 14:6 NASB1995 Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
Jesus claims to be The Son of the living God and the only way to the Father.
Matthew 12:33 NASB1995 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit.
I know Jesus is my Savior. I know He is the Son of God and the ONLY way to the Father. Therefore I desire to be like Him.
He is GOOD and only produces GOOD fruit.
I shall strive to be good through The Spirit that lives in me.
If I am a child of God my fruit shall be good.
Is the tree Good or Bad?
We can't have it both ways.
