Luke 4:18-19 NASB1995 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed, To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.”
Isaiah Prophecied, and 700 years later, Jesus fulfilled. The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me.
Matthew 3:16 NASB1995 After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him,
Isaiah Prophecied, and 700 years later, Jesus fulfilled. He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. And recovery of sight to the blind
Matthew 11:4-5 NASB1995 Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and report to John what you hear and see: the blind receive sight and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
Isaiah Prophecied, and 700 years later, Jesus fulfilled. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives. Mark 1:32-34 NASB1995 When evening came, after the sun had set, they began bringing to Him all who were ill and those who were demon-possessed. And the whole city had gathered at the door. And He healed many who were ill with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He was not permitting the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.
Isaiah Prophecied, and 700 years later, Jesus fulfilled. Proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.” Luke 4:21 NASB1995 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
Jesus didn't miss a single thing. He did all that the Father asked of Him. This includes being the sacrificial Lamb of God. Because of this, John 14:6 NASB1995 Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
John 19:28-30 NASB1995 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished, to fulfill the Scripture, *said, “I am thirsty.” A jar full of sour wine was standing there; so they put a sponge full of the sour wine upon a branch of hyssop and brought it up to His mouth. Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
Jesus knew before He came what was required of Him for our life, but He came anyway.
Because He loves us!
1 John 3:16 NASB1995 We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
He always is faithful! That is a promise to live in.
Have you been set free by the fulfilled work of Jesus? Is the Spirit of the Lord in you? Then preach the gospel of Christ. For it is the power of God to Salvation!
