John 1:4 NASB1995 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.
Where did life begin? Scripture explains that life was in Jesus. Jesus is life. Life is in the presence of the Lord Jesus. Outside of the Lord, there is only death. Death is not in the presence of God. Yet the life took on death for the life of man. Life went into the pits of death where life cannot survive and defeated death, out of love for us. 1 Corinthians 15:54-55 NASB1995 But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
In Christ was/is/always will be life. Because Christ is God and life is in the presence of God.
Death could not separate God from life. So Jesus willingly went to the womb of a virgin girl. He went to the frailty of a yet-to-be-born infant. From the glories of Heaven in the presence of, and as 1 of, the three-in-one triune God to a filthy animal stall in a manger. He emptied Himself in Humility bringing life to earth wrapped in flesh. He did this to show life in Christ to the world that is upside down in death. Knowing that sinful man can have no life in the darkness of death, He was the Light of man pushing back the darkness of death. He allowed the impossible to be possible by surrendering light to darkness and life in God to death for three days.
My hand shakes in excitement as I attempt to type that at the end of those three days, darkness didn't just leave, but it fled as life came forth from the grave of death. It must have looked as if the sun was inside of that tomb as the SON walked out alive!!! Jesus in life providing light for man to see. If he will place his faith in the victory of life. Victory is one in complete surrender to the life-giving God of life
Eternity in the presence of God! That is life offered as a free gift to all who will be born again from death to life in the presence of Jesus!
In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.
I have accepted that gift and today in me is life! Not my life but Jesus who is life. Therefore, the light must shine because I abide in Christ and He in me.
In Jesus is life. If you want life you must receive Jesus.
Can you see by the light of Christ?
