As I was scanning the news I read an article about how some hostages had been treated in two different wars they had been treated horrendously. I thought of how anyone could survive such treatment, and Jesus said to me, "In the power of my name"!

I started contemplating the joy that might come out of the fear of captivity when the captive would say out loud Jesus my Savior.

This morning, I spent my time in prayer, going before the throne, lifting up the many that I know are suffering. There is physical, mental, and spiritual suffering going on, and I prayed for those by name who are suffering from all of the above. Then I closed in the only name that has the power to heal, the name is Jesus. His is the name by which I am able to approach the Throne of Grace.

After spending time in prayer, I prayed again, asking for the text He desired to give me to do His devotional from today, and this is the verse Jesus took me to. Malachi 4:2 NASB95 “But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.

How can hostages who are held captive and treated horrendously have Joy like a calf from a stall? The answer is found in the name of Jesus!

How can those who are suffering from physical, mental, and spiritual suffering continue while they are in the middle of their suffering? The answer is found in the healing power of the sun through the name of the Son, Jesus!

Are you struggling today?

Are you seeking joy in the middle of sorrow?

Do you need physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing? Then make sure you have a reverent awe of the person with the powerful name of Jesus. Acts 4:12 NASB95 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Philippians 2:10-11 NASB95 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Peter made it clear there is power in the name of Jesus. Acts 4:10 NASB95 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by this name this man stands here before you in good health.

Do you show faith in the name of Jesus?

If you do then you can be like a calf from a stall, living in joy while still in the trials of this world.

Malachi 4:2 NASB95 “But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.
