Peace in the middle of turmoil only comes in the refuge of the Lord!
Joel 3:16 NASB1995 The Lord roars from Zion And utters His voice from Jerusalem, And the heavens and the earth tremble. But the Lord is a refuge for His people And a stronghold to the sons of Israel.
There will come a day in the end when all will gather for judgment. Joel describes it like this, Joel 3:2 NASB1995 I will gather all the nations And bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there On behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; And they have divided up My land.
Amos describes it like this. Amos 1:2 NASB1995 He said, “The Lord roars from Zion And from Jerusalem He utters His voice; And the shepherds’ pasture grounds mourn, And the summit of Carmel dries up.”
The area will suffer like it never has before as Joel says, Joel 3:14 NASB1995 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
As we can see when God speaks the all of creation trembles. He will judge based on decisions already made and only those who have sought REFUGE IN CHRIST will escape the wrath of His judgment. Those who have lived their life with a focus on themselves, having never repented and sought out the salvation of God, will suffer the fate of fire as the land dries up into destruction. However, your soul was made everlasting, and although it will suffer the same punishment as the heavens and the earth, unlike them, it will never be destroyed. So the suffering never ends. Now is the time to seek refuge in the Lord. The only WAY to salvation with the Father is LIFE in the TRUTH of Jesus! John 14:6 NASB1995 Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
Last night five young men realized they had brought death upon themselves because of their decisions. Two of them didn't even believe there was a God. Yet through the word of God, they realized that they needed the eternal life that is given by God. So they repented and sought refuge in the salvation of Jesus. Excepting the gift of life over the death they had earned and decided on.
You, too, can have this life if you make the right decision. The decision to repent, surrender, and seek Jesus as your Savior. All who have done this will not be judged for their decisions bringing death. But instead, because of Christ's decision to die an underserved death and rise on the third day, they will find refuge in God. Remember the day is coming when Joel 3:16 NASB1995 The Lord roars from Zion And utters His voice from Jerusalem, And the heavens and the earth tremble. But the Lord is a refuge for His people And a stronghold to the sons of Israel.
Praying you will be in His refuge beside me.
